Your pension and share options move with markets.
Not taking part is still a position. Think Shares shows you how it works.
02 · The difference
| The headline | Without Think Shares |
|---|---|
| 01“Oil prices jump” | Notices fuel costs more and has no idea why. |
| 02“Interest rates rise” | Is caught off guard when the loan repayment goes up. |
| 03“Local currency weakens” | Hears it on the radio and switches off. |
| 04“Markets fall 5% in a day” | Panics and follows what everyone else is doing. |
The news stays the same. What changes is how well you understand it.
03 · The platform
The market isn’t too hard for you. It was explained badly. So we explain it one idea at a time, then let you practise.

Read one idea
Each idea comes with a short story about an everyday situation.
Predict, then tap Joxa
Guess the answer in your head before Joxa shows hers.
Teach it back
Joxa’s follow-ups check you can explain the idea, not just recognise it.
Earn XP and a streak
Right answers add XP. Wrong ones cost a little, and come with an explanation.
A sample lesson, shortened. MCB Group’s figures are real, from its annual reports; Priya and Kevin are fictional. Not a recommendation to buy any share.
Basics
When a company makes a profit, some of it can end up with the people who own its shares. Here’s how that works, with real figures from MCB Group in Mauritius.
Learn 1 key idea, then answer Joxa’s 2 follow-ups to lock it in.

Step 2 · Markets
Doctors train on hundreds of cases before they treat a real patient. Investing should work the same way.
Three practice cases. Take your time.
Case 009 · Port Louis · 9:00 am
“A cyclone warning sends Island Reef shares tumbling.”
It's a Monday in February, the middle of cyclone season. Island Reef Hotels, a Port Louis-listed group that runs six beach resorts around Mauritius, is why you own shares: tourist numbers have grown steadily, and so have its profits. Overnight, the weather service issued a cyclone warning for the island. By 9:00 am the share price is down 15%, its worst day in four years. On investing forums, people are saying the tourist season is ruined.
A sudden event can knock a price down before anyone knows how bad it really is. The question isn't whether the news is scary. It's whether it changes what the business will earn over the coming years, or only over the next few days.
Your Island Reef shares were worth $1,000 at Friday's close. They're now worth $850.

Forecasters expect the cyclone to pass about 150 km off the coast, bringing two days of strong wind and heavy rain. A direct hit is possible but unlikely.
All six resorts are insured for storm damage. When a cyclone hit the island six years ago, two resorts closed for three weeks and insurance paid for most of the repairs.
Rooms are 85% booked for the next three months. Most of those guests arrive after the storm will have passed.
Island Reef has made a profit 12 years in a row, has little debt, and kept paying its dividend through the last cyclone.
